National Games 2025: Olympian Dhinidhi Desinghu wins three gold medals, sets national record

Paris 2024 Olympian Dhinidhi Desinghu won three gold medals in swimming and set a national record in the women’s 200m freestyle event at the National Games 2025 at Manaskhand Tarantal in Golapur, Uttarakhand on Wednesday.The 14-year-old Indian swimmer clocked (2:03.24) to break the women's 200m freestyle national record. She eclipsed her own previous mark of (2:04.24) clocked during the 2023 national championships.

Dhinidhi Desinghu also won in the 100m butterfly event by clocking (1:03.62) to beat Naisha Shetty (1:04.81) and Shristi Upadhaya (1:05.20).The teenager’s third gold of the day came in the women's 4x100m freestyle relay event as she teamed up with Nina Venkatesh, Shalini R Dixit and Latiesha Mandana. The quartet clocked (4:01.58) to beat teams from Maharashtra (4:02.17) and Tamil Nadu (4:08.81).

Dhinidhi was the youngest Indian athlete at the Paris 2024 Olympics last year at the age of 14. She was also one of the standout athletes at the 2023 National Games in Goa by winning seven gold medals.
